Hort Innovation

Innovation in motion.

Photography, video production and on-ground storytelling for Australia's grower-owned horticulture research and development corporation.

OGA Creative partnered with Hort Innovation to bridge the gap between complex R&D and on-farm reality for Australia's $16 billion horticulture industry. The brief focused on a grower-first narrative, translating high-level research into a visual story that resonates with the 12,000 businesses feeding our nation.

We delivered flagship photography, dynamic video production, and on-the-ground storytelling that highlights the tangible benefits of industry investment. From capturing robotics at the Gatton AgTech Showcase to documenting new plant varieties, our work showcases the rollout of game-changing technology across the country.

The result is a brand message that matches the scale of the industry it serves: sharper, more authentic, and designed to keep the people behind the produce at the heart of the story.

Challenge

Hort Innovation is the grower-owned, not-for-profit R&D corporation for Australia's $16 billion horticulture industry. While they fund hundreds of vital projects, their primary challenge was visibility and connection.

With over 12,000 diverse businesses spanning fruits, vegetables, nuts, and greenlife, Hort Innovation needed to bridge the gap between complex scientific research and the everyday reality of the grower. They required a way to demonstrate levy at work, showing how high-level investment translates into tangible on-farm benefits like increased efficiency and reduced labour costs.

Our Approach

We stepped in to humanise the data, shifting the narrative from corporate reporting to a grower-first perspective. This was about innovation in motion.

We produced flagship video content for the AGM that shared the Hort Innovation vision directly through the voices of the growers themselves. At the Gatton AgTech Showcase, we captured the real-world application of autonomous machinery and precision spraying, helping validate the return on investment of these initiatives.

We have travelled across the country to document unexpected collaborations where growers meet robotics engineers and researchers. By focusing on authentic storytelling and high-quality photography, we have highlighted how these projects are securing the future of Australian soil.

03

Outcome

Through a consistent, high-quality visual style, we have helped Hort Innovation strengthen its relationship with the industry. The real result is credibility.

Our work has helped shift the industry's perception of Hort Innovation from a distant funding body to a vital partner in progress. By capturing the people behind the produce, we have created a visual asset library that proves the value of the levy and keeps the grower at the heart of the story.
